Mini-Lone Star Block in 30's Repro's

I'm back.  Today was a productive day...well, not really.  Lol*  Today produced a lot of fun and that's about it.  ;)  Went to some yard sales this morning, ran some errands and am just about finished cutting for Jared Takes a Wife.  Just have some two inch neutrals to cut and I'm done...but I'm outta neutral yardage that matches and I'm too lazy to hit the scrap bin.  So shopping I must go...

The baby must be going through a growth spurt because she's been sleeping long enough for me to do some reading, blogging, cutting, and even get the kids snacks.  Now here I am, pushing naptime boundaries daring to attempt an additional cup of coffee and a blog post.  If I end this abruptly you'll know why...  ;)

Anyhow here's what's happening sewing wise today.  I was blog hopping and discovered Leila's blog called Sewn.  She has a wonderful series of skill building blocks that she's gathered together create a sampler and offering a tutorial for each block on her blog.  Well when I saw her gorgeous Mini-Lone Star block I was so inspired by not only the block but her fabric choices I had to try to recreate it.  I don't have quite the stash of brights so I made do with what I had.  Believe it or not, these are UBER cheapo Walmart fabrics that were less than $2 a yard.  The green and red fray horribly but for a "what the hell" quilt I think their perfect.  Here's my block...and baby is awake so I'll be sewing it together later!!!  ;)

Her tutorial was very clear and easy, I'll be back to make a few more.  ;)
