You can call me a quilting Nurse! In three to four years that is...

Lol* Ok, well, you might have noticed I've been an infrequent blogger lately. I haven't forgotten or even lost interest in blogging, lol*, I've just lost time! I've done a lot of thinking, and Hubby and I have done a LOT of talking, and it looks as though I'm going to be going back to college full time this fall to become a nurse! I'm very excited about this. I've been wanting to work or do something with myself for some time but the kids weren't quite ready. I'd begun taking prerequisites years ago, with plans to attend a nursing program, but my oldest daughter was so small I felt like I was forcing her to sacrifice having a Mother for my own interests. But my youngest is now headed to preschool for a few days a week and this will allow me to spend some time focusing on my direction in life, earn an education, and still give a good chunk of myself to my children. It will take me a few years to get through all of the courses required, before I'm even able to apply for the nursing program, but I'm really looking forward to it! I enjoy people and have an interest in the medical field so I think this is going to be fun and challenging.

I still plan to keep you updated on my projects and know that I'm following along with all of you, even if I'm not able to comment as much as I'd like to. Wish me luck!

Crafting My Heart Out ;)

My Dad cut these stars out a while back in his workshop and decided that I could have them to decorate and toot around with. Well didn't they turn out cute? I'm awful proud of myself. Thanks Dad! I had some pumpkins at home and brought them over and antiqued them up too.

Giveaway Winner

Wheeew...well I'm pooped. We had a great camping trip, went to some sales and a flea market, and had a big camp fire last night. Was awesome. We bought a pop up camper this summer and Hubby and I are starting to feel like pro's. I will show some pictures of more junkin' finds after I get my house back in order. More than anything it needs a good scrubbin'!

Anyhow, I know you are waiting to hear who the winner of the fat quarter and rick rack is! My random name picker was Hubby...he closed his eyes and pulled a name...

Jean from Jean's Page! :) Please drop me an email when you get a moment and I'll get your fat quarter and rick rack to you asap! Hubby's headed to the post office on Monday so it should go in the mail then. :)

Snowball Quilt and Goin' Campin'

Guild last night was fun, I've been meeting with this super nice group of ladies for about 10 months. I missed a lot during the end of the school year/early summer because our schedules just get too crazy for me to be able to get to go off and do fun things. Normally there's just four of us, sometimes five, but the last few nights it's been a few more than that. I guess at one time it was really large, but you know I really like the small group because you can really chat and get to know each other, and it's really informal. I have been going for a little longer to a more formal group and that's a lot of fun too, as I really get the opportunity to learn from people I might never have had the chance to if I weren't there. It's neat to have a little bit of both kinds of experiences.

Last night I brought this to cut...I didn't get much done though - the only downside to meeting with a bunch of quilting gals...we can TALK! :) I did way more chatting than sewing, but did make a little progress on a snowball quilt I'm making to be a Christmas gift.
Ugh...the mess will have to wait though...we're going camping! :)

100th Post Giveaway & Junkin' Treasures

Sheesh I talk a lot! Lol* Even with my absences and lack of quilting or gardening to show I managed to get to 100 posts! In keeping with tradition I have a small giveaway to offer...

All you have to do to win this vintage reproduction fat quarter, and two unopened vintage packs of rick rack, is comment to this post between now and 11:59pm August 6th (Thursday), and sometime on August 7th I will draw a name. I will try to post that day the winner, but you know I'm a busy Momma so forgive me if it takes a bit longer. You do not need to have a blog to win, just leave a way to contact you. If you are a "no-reply" blogger, don't forget to leave an email in case you're name is pulled. This give away is open to bloggers everywhere, you do not need to live in the US to win. Packages going over seas may take a while to get there is all! :) You do not need to blog about my give away, but you know it's appreciated if you do! I've never been out to gain anything with this blog, other than good friends and a ton of inspiration! :)
Thank you so much to my blogging buddies, for all of your kindness and generosity to me! I have learned so much from you all and hope to keep blogging for a long time to come! :) For the friendships, inspiration, and for the pure selfish pleasure of getting comments saying "oooh that's pretty!" :)

-------------------------------------------------------

Hmm...I didn't think about my gardening pals and what I would giveaway to them, I know some of you aren't sewers...so maybe I will have to have another gardening giveaway? It is seed saving season after all! :)

--------------------------------------------------------

Now on with the junk! We went treasure hunting today and here are some of my finds that I'm excited to share...

this awesome bench for the garden... $10! (I know I'm so tacky, but I'm proud of being cheap! LoL*)

sewing machine attatchments, garden signs, and tarnished siverware... paid $3 for the lot! Woohoo!

Some vintage linens...not all are in the best condition but the ones that are too stained or moth eaten to display will be repurposed...

vintage sewing box...filled with needles, embroidery floss, and rug hooking supplies among other things! Lol* The rug hooking needles got me all interested and I think this may have to be the next hobby I dabble into...

Off to clean...need to find places for all of this glorious junk! :)
