The End of June

Zinnia's budding...

Rudbeckia opening up...

Some garden junk...thanks Dad! :)

Verbascum "Southern Charm"...isn't it heaven? Ok, well the flowers are starting to fall but I still love it. Lol* My mantra to this plant..."please seed and spread, please seed and spread". :)

Pumpkins, male bloom...

Female bud...see the baby pumpkin?

I got the coolest compliment yesterday, from one of my neighbors. She walked over as I was planting some bargain buys, and told me how great things were looking. That she loved all of the colors, and that she thought it was the best the house has looked. I was so happy, and told her she really made my day! :) The biggest ego boosting part? She and her boyfriend are landscapers! Lol*
I love tooting around in the garden, and I love it, but you know some people just aren't into plants, and I get that, and respect it. I'm always a little self concious, thinking, "wonder if neighbors are driving by wondering what on earth I'm doing to the place?", so it felt so good to know there might be a few people who like it as much as I do, and maybe don't think it's just becoming a weedy jungle. Yay! :)

I wish I lived closed by to come by and see your garden and also to have you come over to my house and give me some suggestions. You are doing a wonderful job!

See - all that hard work pays off. I would love to see your home and garden in person.

We drive around all the time and check out people's flower gardens. Glad people are recognizing your hard work!

I love looking at other people's yards and getting ideas and seeing what's growing. Would love to see yours!

Love that little cart! It looks really nice right there--the green really sets it off.

Hi Valerie, Thank you for visiting my blog, even if you did stumble across it whilst blog-hopping, I love doing that. Also thanks for the comment and of course you can re-create my sign for your garden. I'd love to see it when it's done.

I see you like day lillies as well! I still have 3 more to flower, the buds are almost ready, but some have rotted and fallen off this year before even opening, I don't know why.

We are having a heat wave here in UK (can you believe it?) it's horrible, I hate the really hot weather unless I am right by the Sea. I haven't been able to work on my allotment or i'd probably get sun stroke, so I have to go up there late evening to water and harvest.
best wishes
maureen

I bet you planted your Zinnias from seed. I'm not that patient, bought a couple plants and put them in a pot. Yours look much better than mine. Your "garden junk" is nice. What will you put on it? Your verbascum looks like it might attract hummingbirds. Love, love the pumpkin flower. My mother used to dip the flowers in egg and fry them for us. Sounds like you've made your house into a home and that's what neighbors like to see.
