A Whoops & Circular Rulers

Are these awesome or what? I found these circle rulers at walmart - they are perfect for trimming away the curved ring seam allowances. Love love love. I think they will come in awfully handy for a lot of projects in the future too.

Of course I have to show some progress pictures. I was so excited to get started on these darn geese I just hauled off whacking and sewing before I realized...the geese were supposed to be purple. Doh!!! Oh well, still pretty. :)

Off to bed. Night! ;)

You are just going to town on this challenging project. It is going to be beautiful. EQ is a great tool for quilters but I certainly don't use it as well as you do! Carry on girl, can't wait to see it done!

I am glad you are taking us along with you in this process. It is turning out so beautiful! I can't wait for you to show us more about how to make this in EQ. I have EQ5 and don't use it as much as I could because I just don't know how. I can do the basics but not what you are doing.

I too like the circle rulers. And your quilt is going to be beautiful. I'm impressed how quickly you are putting it together. You are doing a great job...even with a color change!

I'm intimidated by paper piecing, so this looks like an incredible amount of work--and I'm impressed that you're hand sewing it!

EQ intimidates me, too--I still can't figure it out.

You have been a busy girl over the holidays! Love those pieces/blocks/units! So what if the geese were supposed to be purple? They look fabulous anyways!

Wishes for a very happy, healthy and creative new year to you and your family!

Big hugs

Hi Valerie,

Thanks for your kind comment on my quilt. Yes, using silk makes a big difference for me, especially when I was just starting out with free-motion quilt.

I have posted about it here:
