Making candle mats for a few of my Husband's work friends. I have seen these on a lot of blogs and now I know why! ;) They are very quick and easy, and a lot of fun to make.
They are completely from my scrap stash. I precut my scraps following Bonnie Hunter's scrap system, so all I had to do was go into my strip and block bins and pick matching fabrics. No additional cutting or pressing other than what you might typically do during assembly.
The candles were from the local dollar store - shhhh! ;) For $1 candles they smell SO GOOD and pretty strong too. Bags are on sale at Jo-Anne's and these cost me 29 cents per bag...I stocked up as they are so handy and cute for small gifts.

Very cute! Who wouldnt like that?
GREAT gift idea!!! Nothing wrong with being economical when the results are so wonderful.
Budget gifties never looked better, my friend!!
Those are pretty! Do you ever have booths at craft fairs? I would think these would be good to sell for people to give as gifts. You sure are organized to cut your scraps a certain way.
What a great scrappy gift idea! Thank you for visiting me, and leaving the kind comment. I am happy to meet a fellow 30-ish quilter. :)

That's a great gift, anyone would love to get it.
What a great gift! I would think anyone would love to receive one of those!
Simple and so beautiful. The only thing I do not manage is the free motion machine quilting.
